Quirimbas Archipelago in the Indian Ocean to the far north of Mozambique

Infused with many décor elements connected to the vast fishing activities of the locals, vivid colours and classic pieces all work together to create a fun filled beach ambience, truly reflecting the qualities of the fun loving owners.

Vamizi Island is part of the Quirimbas Archipelago in the Indian Ocean to the far north of Mozambique. It’s a slender 12 km long coral Island. With miles of beautiful white un-spoilt beaches, turquoise waters and a tropical climate, it is truly paradise on earth.
In the 15th Century the Island was know as Amisa with mostly Muslim inhabitants. At the time major industries were collecting and producing indigo, turtle shells and ivory. The previously exploited turtle shells are now protected with conservation projects.
The Island boasts 6 luxury villas, with Casa Marjarni being one of the six. Activities on the island include beach walks, fishing, boating and diving to explore the exquisite coral reef and spotting a Green or Hawksbill turtle in their natural environment. If you’re lucky you might even witness a turtle coming to the beach to nest.
Vamizi boast its own airstrip, which makes if fairly easy to get to the Island via either Pemba (Mozambique) or Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
