Our Team
Lucy Eaton Corder Consulting has been in operation since 2004. In this time, we have been privileged to work in the most exquisite places and with the most wonderful clients.
It has been amazing to see the diverse landscape of our country, and the neighbouring countries that we have worked in such as Mozambique, Botswana and Zambia. Africa is our inspiration.
Almost all our projects have taken us either to the islands off the coast of Mozambique or into the thick African bush, both of which from a project management and logistic perspective has proven extremely challenging. But by working closely with competent team members on site and hours of careful planning, we have yet to fail at achieving our objectives, which is timely execution of installations. We have also been fortunate enough to spend time in the rural areas, gathering ideas which have enabled us to deliver authentic interiors which reflect the region and the strong history of trading along this coastline.
Lucy
I started my career of in Fashion Design. After working for a couturier and uniform manufacturer I moved away from fashion and into interiors. My love of craft, the African bush and fabrics lead me to set up a non-profit wire and beading project working with The Blind Society in Soweto and homeless children in Hillbrow, followed by a couple of years importing teak furniture from Zimbabwe for the Safari Industry and finally as a sales agent for one of the interior fabric houses. It was after this that I went to work for Abercrombie in Kent, and was known as the “flying Seamstress”. I travelled to their camps in Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya redesigning the staff uniforms. My creativity was then employed in camp refurbishments and the procurement and management of the lodge curio shops.
My strength lies in the areas which I love, which is client liaising and concept design and development. With my past experiences in fashion, fabrics and craft creation I felt well positioned to start my own business providing a turnkey solution to the hospitality industry..

After studying Textile Design and dabbling in Fashion Design my journey in the industry started at Abercrombie & Kent in 1999 in the Development Department. Being a small department at that stage I was involved in new developments, refurbishments of existing lodges, project management and procurement. Soon my position in Procurement and Logistics became more definitive as I started taking on a more senior role managing these disciplines on a much larger scale. In 2007 I was recruited for a FF&E Procurement position at The Parker Company in the UAE where I was fortunate to start this chapter of my career working on the iconic Atlantis on the Palm in Dubai and thereafter Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco. In 2010 I joined Lucy as a partner in Lucy Eaton Corder Consulting. My self-motivated and detail orientated nature has always suited my role in procurement, project management and logistics. Along with Lucy’s creative abilities our unique skill sets synergise perfectly making LEC a formidable team in the industry.
